I think that a chinese climbing permit is not that easy to get. most climbers in that range have great respect for Nepalese culture and the plight of the Tibetans. I suspect this event will significantly alter future expeditions in the area. After seeing the film I can say that I will never be giving the PRC any of my money to climb in their country.

sard: I would ascertain it based on the fact that the climbers were issued a permit by the government of SOME country. I would assume that their base camp would therefore be IN that country. If the climbers shot film, they probably know where on the map they were shooting. Climbers in the Himalaya generally know how to read a map. Honestly, it's not like it's impossible to say where the victims were when they were murdered...
